"Invisible Bridge" Bryce Dessner's Project At Paris Philharmonie On 25/09/2016

A 'go-between' equally at home in rock and in contemporary music, the American Bryce Dessner cultivates the art of collaboration, shared compositions and performances. For this concert, he brings together guests coming from different backgrounds: Aaron Dessner (The National), his brother and eternal collaborator, the singer Justin Vernon (of the indie folk group Bon Iver) , the group Triple Sun and the Labèque sisters.
Between the group The National, in which he plays guitar, and his contemporary music compositions, Bryce Dessner is a brilliant Jack-of-all-trades who likes to share this eclecticism, a bit in the image of this concert with its mad, appealing cast. At his side, Dessner invites his twin brother, Aaron, the other guitarist of The National, as well as Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), and even Katia and Marielle Labèque and the group Triple Sun. With their Minimalist Dream House project in 2013, the pianist sisters had celebrated Minimalism, from its roots to its most recent influences in rock as in electro (Sonic Youth, Brian Eno, Radiohead, Aphex Twin). They plunged their four hands into a dense material, alternating between musical styles and textures… Under the direction of Bryce Dessner, the meeting of all these talents ready to throw bridges between genres can only give birth to heavenly music.
